"My mother's a druggie alcoholic who doesn't really care about me or my brother, just manipulates us to be on her side or guilts is. My dad married my abusive step mother and neglected me after he got custody, sent my brother to military school rather than deal w him. Now that I'm grown he still lets my step and adopted brothers live at home in their mid 20's and flies them around the world living like celebrities and only sees me and my older brother once a year for a day. He's a super millionaire and handed my brothers a job but even though he runs his own company he doesn't "have time" for my brother and I. I think my brothers given up on him but I've always hoped he would grow to love me like he loves my younger brothers. "

My parents' divorce. Finalized, but some petty stuff about assets is still ongoing. It'll probably never end. This has been going on for about 5 years now.

One of my Uncles is mad at my Mother for using my Grandmother's car (which she can't drive because her license expired) even though my Mother only added 5k miles on it and hasn't talked to her since November. Another Uncle hasn't gone looking for the family beach house for a third year in a row and I'm trying to get his daughter to learn how to rent one for next year because it's clear he's not bothering until it's too late. Beside that no one has cheated on there SO or done anything REALLY bad.

"One side of my family is chill, the other side only appears when good things are happening in life. When good things are happening and they find out, they do everything they can to try and make you fail. They always start by coming around wanting to be "close with the cousins" again. All they really want to do is gain your trust so they could screw you over and get ahead. I refuse contact with that half of the family. "

My grandma was essentially murdered in the hospital because the nurse watching over her had beef with my mom (who'd worked at that hospital years prior) Half my family is gay or bi and married to their beard or in a hush-hush open relationship because the other half the family is VERY conservative (found this one out when I came out and a fair amount of my cousins hit me up to tell me I was brave) I'm that token cousin who smokes weed and went to an artsy school for a Ba in psychology and my grandpa wrote me out of the will for it (hes on the conservative half of the family). I have a cousin named Almond because my uncle thought it was funny to go for a nut and instead had a kid (literally)
