If by online, you mean over a work lan at my friends place of work... then it was Marathon 2 on the Mac... and then Civ 2 and Warcraft II. The first game I recall playing online when I got my own PC and 56k modem in the later 90's was Unreal Tournament... which was 99 and then Return to Castle Wolfenstein the following year or so later. Set up a clan called AGW and then moved onto Battlefield 1942 and ended up getting involved with the Desert Combat mod, and was designing/making maps for it
