Look at old popular baby names lists and pick names that everyone knows how to spell but that people haven't been using a lot lately. Oliver is a great example of this. I like this site. My parents gave me a name that was really popular in their generation and almost unused in my generation. I've literally never had any problems ever it's like the upper-class white protestant heterosexual able-bodied male of names. But it's unique enough for people my age that there's no confusion when identifying me.

I wanted to name my son Nathan Sterling. I know someone who has chosen Lincoln for their son's first name. I like Karinna (or Corinna) for a girl, but I never got a girl.... And then there's Katrina. Beautiful name ruined by the Nat'l Weather Service...
