I had it done two years ago and have loved every second of it. My prescription was only around a -3. After the healing process I have 20/15 vision. The actual surgery was pretty miserable, but it only lasted 20 or so minutes. I was amazed how I could immediately read the clock on the wall, though it was still blurry. The next morning I drove back for an exam without glasses. For a week or so my eyes were very itchy. The first month I was very hesitant to drive at night because I had severe halos around lights. They ebbed slowly, but after 3 months they went away. I urge anyone to at least go get a free exam. I loved the chain LASIK Plus. They were not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but I like how they are national. I am able to stop in if I am ever worried about things and they will check it out. Also, they guaranteed their services, if my eyes go bad again, they will redo the surgery for free. (Excluding reading glasses, they said those are pretty much inevitable)

My mom had Lasik surgery about 5 years ago, and she had a horrible experience with it. Since getting the surgery, she has needed to get reading glasses, which she didn't need beforehand, and overall, I think she regrets doing it. Things may have gotten better since then, or her experience could have been a fluke, but that's just my two cents...

"I had min done in 2001, and I was 20/15 the next day after the procedure. I had an eye exam done a few months ago....guess what? STILL 20/15 vision to this day. I went to Lasik Plus in MD, and still love it to this day. Every once in a while, I still look at things far away and still say "Shit, I can see that!!" "

Got it about 5 years ago, I went from terrible vision to better than 20/20 over night. All in all, an extremely positive experience, my eyes tend to be a little dryer since the surgery as some of the nerves in the eye are severed and it doesn't know when to lubricate as well, but this is really only noticeable in extremely dry environments, right in front of the air conditioner, in the desert, etc. Don't go with the bargain basement procedure, I had something called bladeless intralase with custom vue, it was pricy but the procedure yielded better results on average, cost about 5k, don't skimp on your eyes, you only have 2.

I had PRK 10 years ago. It was unbelievably painful for 2-3 days after the each surgery (they waited 3 weeks before operating on second eye). Went from -6 to 20/15. The only downside - I became very sensitive to light.

Not me but a co-worker. He had his done about 5 years ago and still procraims that it is the best money he has ever spent. For the first 2 months after his procedure his night vision was sketchy but after that everything is great, his eyesight is on par or slightly better than mine.
