How do you feel about stock trading?

Trading isn't really interesting to me. I'm a buy and hold kind of guy. Do a bit of research, see which companies are primed to grow at a reasonable rate, which are giving out decent dividends (but not so much that they are bleeding money), etc. I hold a few individual stocks, but most of my savings/retirement are in funds and bonds. A company with great value will ride out the rises and falls of the market. Not worried about market crashes - that's a good time to buy stable companies, is what that is.

It scares and confuses me. As far ad I can tell stock value is based on who's telling which number the loudest
It's better to invest in mutual funds as they're basically assured to grow (albeit slowly). Investing in individual stocks is akin to gambling, as inconsequential things unrelated to company performance could significantly alter a stock's price (like Musk saying it's too high, a virus despite the company being a technology-based corporation heavily involved in communications, or if an employee does something publicly stupid)
Eh, it's an option. I'll see myself out now.
I wish I had the time and the excess cash to try day trading, but I just put money into retirement and mutual funds instead. Boring, but generally reliable, and automated.
