Gangrene. Smells don't usually bother me, I can just block it out. I am an x-ray tech and had to do an x-ray on the ankle of a homeless gentleman who had had his cast on way longer than he should have because he didn't want to go back to the doctor. Opened it up and the waft of the smell hit me forcibly in the face and I nearly threw up on reflex, it took a supreme effort not to add vomit to the mix of dirt, decaying, blackening flesh and pus the skin of his ankle had become.
