when did they make the movie christmas story

A Christmas Story came out way back in 1983. It's honestly one of those movies that just feels like a tradition at this point, you know? I remember watching it every single year growing up, and now it's still on repeat during the holidays.

It's crazy to think it's been over 40 years since that movie hit theaters. It really holds up though, especially that scene with the leg lamp. Still makes me laugh every time it pops up on the tv screen while I'm lounging around the house.
