where is the island of Borneo located

Borneo is located right in the heart of Southeast Asia, sitting just south of the Malay Peninsula. If you look at a map, it's pretty much surrounded by the South China Sea to the north and west, the Sulu Sea to the northeast, and the Java Sea down to the south. It's actually the third-largest island in the world, so it's impossible to miss once you're out there navigating those waters.

I've sailed past that region quite a few times, and honestly, the geography is pretty unique since the island is actually split between three different countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. It's a massive place with dense rainforests and some tricky coastlines to manage if you aren't paying close attention to your charts. Definitely one of those places that sticks with you after you've passed through it a few times.
