Japan actually has quite a few active volcanoes, but the most famous one by far is Mount Fuji. I've sailed past the coast of Japan plenty of times, and seeing that peak from the bridge of a ship is honestly something else. It's been quiet for a long time now, but it's still officially classified as active, so it's always on the radar.

If you're talking about the ones that are constantly blowing steam or acting up lately, Sakurajima is the one that comes to mind. That place is super busy and erupts pretty much all the time. It's definitely a different vibe compared to the peaceful look of Fuji when you're out at sea.
