The highest peak down in Antarctica is definitely Mount Vinson, or the Vinson Massif as some call it. I've sailed past some pretty wild coastlines in my time, and while I haven't personally climbed it, just knowing it sits at about 4,892 meters above sea level is enough to give you the chills. It's an absolute beast of a mountain, tucked away in the Sentinel Range.

Most of the guys I talk to who actually do expeditions down there say the weather is the real killer, way more than the climbing itself. Being stuck in those ice fields is no joke, and even from a distance, you can tell it's a completely different world compared to the peaks we see in other parts of the globe. If you're ever planning a trip, make sure you've got the right gear, 'cause the cold there is on another level.
