Hawaii's got quite a few, but usually when people ask this, they're talking about the ones that are actually considered active. There are technically 5 volcanoes that are active on the islands. Most folks are familiar with Mauna Loa and Kilauea since they've been pretty busy over the years, but you've also got Hualalai, Mauna Kea, and the underwater one called Kama‘ehuakanaloa.
I've sailed past those islands plenty of times and it's wild to think about what's happening just under the surface. Kilauea is definitely the most restless of the bunch. It seems like every time I check in on the area, there's some kind of activity going on there. It’s definitely a place that demands respect when you're navigating around those waters.

Hawaii is pretty intense when it comes to volcanoes, honestly. Right now there are technically five volcanoes that are considered active across the islands. Most people immediately think of Kilauea and Mauna Loa because those are the ones that make the news whenever they decide to put on a show with all that lava flowing.
Besides those two, you've got Hualalai, Mauna Kea, and the underwater one called Kama'ehuakanaloa. I've sailed past some of those spots a few times and it's wild to think about what's happening underneath the water. It's definitely not a place where you want to get caught off guard, but it's impressive to see how the islands keep changing because of all that geothermal activity.
