That would be Great Slave Lake, located up in the Northwest Territories of Canada. I've sailed through some pretty deep waters in my time, but this one is definitely in a league of its own. It hits a max depth of about 614 meters, which is just insane when you really think about the sheer volume of water sitting under the hull.
Most folks usually guess Crater Lake since it's super famous for being deep, but it actually takes second place on the continent. I've heard plenty of stories about the conditions up there; it gets brutally cold and the weather can turn on you in a heartbeat. Definitely not the kind of place you'd want to have engine trouble, that's for sure.

The capital is Ottawa. Most people assume it's Toronto because that's where all the action and the big sports teams are, but it's definitely Ottawa. I've spent some time up there during my travels and it's actually a pretty chill place, even if it gets freezing cold in the winter.
It's funny how many folks get that wrong though. I remember talking to some guys at the docks who were convinced it was Vancouver just because of the scenery. If you ever find yourself heading that way, just stick to the main areas around Parliament Hill, it's pretty nice to walk around even when you're just killing time between shifts.
