where is mount rushmore located
The smallest state in the U.S. is definitely Rhode Island. I've sailed past the coast there a few times, and honestly, you can drive across the whole thing in no time at all. It's tiny compared to pretty much anywhere else you'd visit.
It's always kind of funny how small it is when you look at it on a map, especially if you're coming from somewhere huge like Texas. If you're planning a road trip through New England, you'll probably end up going through it without even realizing you've crossed the border. Cool little spot though, definitely worth a quick stop if you're in the area.
Mount Rushmore is sitting right there in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I've flown over that part of the country a few times, and honestly, seeing those massive heads carved into the granite from the air is pretty wild. It's tucked away near a town called Keystone, which is basically the gateway if you're planning on driving up there to see it for yourself.
If you're ever planning a road trip through the states, it's definitely one of those spots that looks way bigger in person than it does in pictures. The whole area around there is pretty scenic too, so it's a good place to spend a couple of days if you want to do some hiking or just explore the hills. Just keep in mind that it can get pretty crowded during the peak season, so try to plan accordingly.
