Drowning I'm sure we have all had close calls, but mine may just be closer. Two years ago I was in Cozumel, Mexico, we were on the less popular side of the island because the surf was big, and good for body surfing. I was not paying attention and drifted away from my family into an area where I could not stand. I have always been a very strong swimmer, so I didn't panic. At least until I got tired, and realized i hadn't moved. The surf was getting higher, and stronger, and every wave crashed over me and pushed me down. I called and screamed for help, but i was so tired. They say your life flies by your eyes, but that's not true, it was more, shit shit, fuck im going to die, shit. ect. I let go, i was just so tired. I woke up on the beach, with a very attractive woman giving me mouth to mouth. I still remember her. She was hot, anyways i didn't go back into the ocean for quite awhile. Some man had pulled me out, i'm glad he did. I have never been more scared in my entire l

that i'll be an inadequate father.
Having my feet run over by a car.
"Really, has nobody said "death" yet? 'Cause that's pretty fucking scary. I mean, at any moment, everything could just end, like dreamless sleep and you never wake up. Maybe you get a few seconds to panic before the car scatters bits of your skull across the road. Or maybe a nearby star lets off a gamma ray burst, and you don't even get a nanosecond of regret before it vaporizes you at light-speed. Or it could be just gradual old age that gets you. I lose far too much sleep just afraid of the thought that someday this consciousness that I love so much will end. "
Deep water. Irony is i'm a scuba diver - I'm still having panic attacks everytime I submerged. Got into diving to conquer that fear, so far not working yet :(
I have an anxiety based on no incident in particular that something will get stuck in one of my eyes, so every time I walk up the stairs with a pencil in my hand or a friend is waving a stick or fork while talking, I'm just a little more alert. This does however conflict with my corresponding fantasy in which after losing an eye, I get to wear muthafuckin eye patches all the time like a boss.
Being cheated on again by the person I love. The paranoia kills me everyday.
That my husband will die before I do.
Wasps. I will literally cry. About 4 years ago, I was changing clothes in my room when I saw a wasp buzzing around. I didn't think much of it, because at the time I wasn't afraid of them. I walked out of my room for a second, then walked back in and proceeded to change pants. I pull on my rather loose sweats and tie the string tight. Seconds later I feel a stinging on my shin, then the worst pain I've ever felt on my inner calf near my knee. I yank my pants down as fast as I can, screaming and crying. I think it's pretty obvious what had happened. The wasp landed in the leg of my sweats. I put them on. Angry wasp. It stung my 8 times in about a 3 square inch region. My leg swelled a lot and turned a dark color. To this day I will still freak out if a wasp comes near me. My leg also still turns dark in the 3 square inch area if it is really cold outside. I'm a girl by the way.
I have a fear of falling up into the sky. It's hard for me to go camping and lay on my back at night, looking into the night, without the overwhelming fear of somehow being thrusted into the dark sky. Shudders* Oh wait, you said legitimized?
