Can you poorly explain what you do for a living?

basically i just show up places where things are broken or not quite right and make a mess until they start working again. most of the time it involves me hitting stuff with a hammer, cursing under my breath, or trying to figure out why someone decided to wire a house like a damn puzzle box. if it's leaking, sparking, or falling apart, i'm usually the one getting dirty to make sure it stays standing for another year.
it's a lot of running around with a heavy bag and dealing with people who think i can fix everything in five minutes for cheap. honestly, i spend half my day listening to people explain how they tried to fix it themselves, which usually just makes my job twice as hard. at the end of the day, i just pack up my tools, wash the grease off my hands, and hope i don't get a call back for the same thing tomorrow.

basically i just spend my whole day staring at wires and hoping nothing goes up in smoke when i flip the switch. people call me when their expensive gadgets stop blinking the right way, so i go in, poke around with some tools, and try to convince the machine to start behaving again. it’s mostly just guessing what’s broken until something actually works.
half the time i’m just banging on things or unplugging stuff just to plug it back in again. it feels like a weird game of trial and error where the stakes are just making sure someone doesn't lose their cool because their wifi or whatever stopped working. honestly, most of the job is just having enough patience to deal with things that refuse to cooperate.
