"Bread. This is because most countries can produce this, and the ones than can't probably still eat plenty of it. It's weird to think of in many first world nations, but many nations across the world still live primarily on bread everyday. There was a reason in the Bible it was referred to as your "daily bread." Though we've certainly come a long way from the societies that existed in Biblical times, that doesn't mean that we've completely gotten rid of the idea of bread as a primary staple of most diets. "

I don't know but the west has to step their game up because if either the chinese or indians win, we fucked up.

"My god this sounds absolutely horrible. Since it's a "food item" implying a uniform product but not necessarily flavouring/arrangement, I would guess some sort of pre-arranged meal or ration. You could at least get variations in content or flavoring. If that's out, then some sort of meal replacement mix - you won't get nutritional deficiencies and it's as easy as possible to jug down and ignore the fact that you've been eating the same thing for months. "
