"I used to do a bit of Karate, but quite when I realised how shitty it was. I know a bit of MMA, Jiu-Jitsu (The real "break your wrists and ankles" kind, not the Brazilian kind.), some Kung-Fu, boxing, and Wing-Chun. I know a moderate amount of Krav-Maga. I know a lot of (As in, I'd be capable of teaching a class), freestyle wrestling (sufficient enough here that I've executed 5-point throws in matches), greco-roman wrestling, and Judo. Ironically, I no longer compete in any martial arts. Damn, they were fun too. "

Got my black belt in TKD then lost interest. At 45 was in the best shape of my life and really enjoyed training, but got tired of 14 YO's with Nintendo trained reflexes who could kick my ass. In my teens I was doing Tai Chi. Should have done it the other way around.

I started doing Jujitsu in 1995. I used to go to seminars all over the states, and did just about everything. My son was very much into it, but when he entered high school, he gravitated to wrestling, and fell in love with it, so I kind of followed.

I've doing Krav Maga for about a year, it's been really fun and I've learned a lot, but I'm always out of town when they do the Level 2 tests...

I studied Hapkido for several years before college. Only got to first degree, partially because of a number of poorly timed minor injuries. I did get to the point where I was teaching and leading classes fairly regularly (all black belts were expected to help teach). Once I graduate and settle down more, I'd like to find a studio (maybe in another style?) and study seriously again.

The problem with some martial arts is that some of the fighting styles would not work really well in real situations(look at UFC or other competitions). Take for instance the more advanced kicks in Taekwondo They are never used as they leave you open for too long or can easily put you off balance. Besides in close range or on the floor kicks are mostly useless. I have done karate and Taekwondo. Did not bother to stay for more than green belts.

I do mixed martial arts, which consists of: -Western Boxing for Hands -Ju-Jitsu for Ground Fighting -Muay Thai for Legs, Knees, and Elbows This is pretty much all you need to defend yourself. (I don't do any gun defense, because if somebody has a gun and wants to kill you, you're pretty much dead.)

I have a white studded, lime horizontally pin striped belt in a form of martial arts you've probably never heard of.
