I know a few people who go by their middle names instead of their first names, so they write their names like that. Usually the first name is one that's been passed down through the family, and the parents really wanted to call them what they chose for the middle name.

Sometimes their own normal name is already taken in the Actor's union so they have to alter it somehow, or take a new one, until it fits and isn't already being used.

possibly someone called Colin Thomas Howell (or somesuch)wanted a name that wasnt taken, and some unions wont let 2 people with the same stage name in
