What is something you spend a ton of money on that the vast majority of people never would?

honestly, it might sound a bit crazy to most folks, but i drop a serious amount of cash on vintage fountain pen restoration parts and rare inks. people usually think i'm nuts for spending triple digits on a nib or a specific bottle of ink that's been out of production for decades when they could just grab a ballpoint from the grocery store for a buck. there's just something about the weight and the way a properly tuned pen glides on paper that keeps me hooked, and i honestly lose track of how much i sink into it every year.

i get that for 99% of the population, a pen is just a tool to get the job done and nothing more. they don't see the value in hunting down original celluloid parts or paying for imports just to get a certain shade of blue-black. it’s definitely one of those hobbies that looks like a total money pit from the outside, but it brings me way more satisfaction than buying the latest gadget or whatever everyone else is obsessing over these days.
