Those who constantly drive 5 or 10 MPH (8 or 16 KPH) under the limit, why?

Why not? The limit is the limit, not the required speed. I know several people who prefer to drive slower for various reasons. If someone going slower than you bothers you, overtake. That's the whole point of it.

I don't want to hit an animal. Human or otherwise. Additionally, most of the roads in my area are unkempt.
