What was cool in 5000 B.C. that's still cool now?

Games have been around almost as long as humans have. Games capture the ideas and worldviews of their cultures and pass them on to the next generation. They were important as cultural and social bonding events, as teaching tools and as markers of social status. Competition runs in our blood, and I'd go as far as sayin games halped pave the way for peace instead of fighting a pointless war, communities could play game against each other instead.
