People who write extremely clickbait articles (the ones you have to click ""next"" 30 times before getting anywhere near the POINT of the article): does your boss straight up tell you to repeat yourself for 90% of the article, or do they try to skirt around it, trying to legitimize it?

"Not a writer but the sequencing is really fucking annoying. They go like this: click here to find about a shocking encounter with an electric fence but first we need to give you the back story the back story starting at age 10 is sad because Jimmy's neighbours cat died but wait that's not all... at age 8 he peed on a fence, but more shockingly .. at age 6 he thought electricity was magic by 14 he knew it was electrons but at age 4 everything was magical, like this unicorn Fuck me...I now stop if any sort of "next" is required. FOLLOW UP QUESTION: How did you get where you are? I assume (tell me if I'm wrong) that you didn't set out, wanting to write clickbait articles, and I am curious how one goes from a wantung their dream job of potentially journalism, or ghostwriting, or something of the like, to settling for what is likely thought of as the bottom of the barrel writing job.
