In America, and here in the UK inequality is only getting worse. Wages are becoming ever more polarised, and the tendency of towards monopoly is one of the contributing factors. Take for example recently floated corporation Glencore. It controls huge amounts of the worlds grain supply. It makes huge profits speculating on grain prices, driving them up to the point of food riots in poor countries. Over the last 30 years or so, power has leached from the ballot box to capital (predominantly controlled by large multinational companies and banks). If you want social justice though, if you want roses with your bread, then you've got to fight for it. Thats how we got the vote, the welfare state/safety net and every other significant social gain. Nobody in power is going to come along on a white horse and sort it out for you. TL DR: To the barricades!

I just hate that some people have an insane amount of money and continue to screw over people that live paycheck-to-paycheck. It's really fucked up and those people are going to get theirs.

Nope. Not even hypothetically, because someone will always fill a power vacuum. And people are shit.

Naw. I've got work to do. If I'm pissed at a corporation, I don't buy from them.
Bildir
Fuck. Yes.

Okay so many people are saying why blame corporations, we owe our standard of living to them. Let's be clear, there are 2 different types of corporations, ones that depend on our consumerism, and those that leave us no other choice but to buy their products and services. Insurance companies, oil companies, pharmaceuticals, and banks.

If I were American, I'd be out there already.

Nope. I make a good living, live in a nice neighborhood in a nice apartment and drive a nice car. I have absolutely nothing to protest about. And i shop at motherfucking WalMart. BTW, i'm typing this on my IBM laptop that runs Microsoft windows, using an Intel processor, sitting on my office chair i bought at Staples, drinking a Poland Spring, wearing a Hanes wife beater, texting a friend on my Apple Iphone, while my Sony TV is on in the background. I sweat corporations.
