Walmart offers a ton of perks to their employees. Frequent paid for food, 20% off hair, nails, and eyecare in their facilities even after insurance for eyes, 10% discount and it includes food during the holidays and a bonus 20% on an entire order of any amount for working black friday, numerous programs to help them out including associate in dire need fund, they donate to local charities as well as Childrens Miracle Network. They sell most of their food for cost, when labor and shipping are included, until people caught wind of it they wouldn't prosecute hungry people for stealing as long as they ate it in store, and most stores still turn a blind eye to it. They start out every employee above minimum wage. They're not perfect but on a corporate level they treat their employees well. It is the mid level management that mistreats people. Edit: walmart employees also get hotel discounts and various other places offer then discounts just for working there.

The white ranger and the green ranger were the same damn person. This is my longest running grudge.

If you called a Nazi a nazi you'd get a slap. They were called the NSDAP, and nazi was an insult, even then. The name stems from jokes about an intolerant stupid Bavarian called Nazi (short for Ignatius), and as Hittles grew up in Bavaria... well you can see where this is going. Point is, Nazi does not come from the pronounciation of 'National Socialist'. That is a coincidence, albeit a hilarious one.

"For me it's always been the napkin v. serviette fight. Napkin is U (upper class) and serviette is non-U (not upper class). I hate the term serviette but people always say things like "napkin is soo common" or a "serviette is cloth but a napkin is paper". I know it's petty but aside from my own mother no one seems to believe/agree with me. "

Well just last night me and my friends were arguing over what Scotch is. They all said it was expensive/good/aged whisky... I tried to explain that it needs to be distilled in Scotland, hence the name, but I don't know what I'm talking about.

ITT: Things people had individual arguments about years ago with a few people who happened to be wrong about it and didn't have a smartphone. Those experiences are always infuriating, but this thread looked like it was going to be about the bigger picture.

Society is continually getting better. In the developed world at least it has never been better to be a woman, homosexual or an ethnic minority and you have never been less likely to be the victim of a violent crime. Consumerism still sucks, climate is screwed up and there is still a long way to go but anyone who tries to hark back to better times needs to be reminded that a woman's place is no longer exclusively on the kitchen and mixed race, same gender couples can get married in a lot of places now.
