What is the best place to buy small loose GIA certified diamonds?
Finding small GIA certified diamonds can be a real headache because most places don't bother grading anything under a half carat. From what I’ve seen picking up supplies over the years, you’re better off looking at specialized diamond wholesalers rather than typical retail jewelry stores. Those big mall shops usually just mark them up way too much and don't even have the paperwork to back up the quality for the smaller stuff.
I'd suggest checking out some of the established dealers in major trade hubs. If you're buying in bulk or looking for specific cuts, those guys are usually willing to talk shop. Just a heads up though, GIA certificates for tiny stones can sometimes cost more than the diamond itself, so make sure it's actually worth it for your project. Sometimes it’s smarter to just go with a reputable seller who provides their own appraisal if the price point is lower.
