Antonio Arce, a 14 year old from Tempe, Az was tragically shot and killed by police as he ran from a police officer with a BB gun, who told him to stop and to show his hands. If you were the responding officer, how might you have handled the situation differently and what's the most likely outcome?

Run after the kid but with my weapon ready. Keep calling out asking if it's a real gun and to drop it or things can go really bad. If he turned to point it at me and I didn't know forsure if it was real, I'd most likely shoot if there was no immediate cover.

Rather than a gun, I'd use this thing that shoots out a wire with hooks on either end that wrap around the target's legs. I forget what it's called, but it's far better than killing someone that couldn't have killed you.

Ideally, I'd be able to tell the difference between a real firearm and a BB gun. Now I'm not saying they aren't similar looking. But there's usually some giveaways.

The fact it was a bb gun doesnt matter if it looked like a real gun but the rest of it is wrong

Not here to open the can of worms But the proliferation of firerarms create this situation. In all other parts of the with tight regulations A kid wouldn't Been shot by the the police running away with a BB gun as convincing as it might be.
