lots of drinkin' and fightin' and inbreeding. i've looked through some highschool yearbooks from Houma, and there aren't a whole lot of last names represented there. other than the drinking and fighting, lots of nice and fun (in a wild kind of way) people. delicious food. i would always stop at any random place in New Iberia and get amazing food, and my favorite Boudin Balls in the region were found at a convenience store in Thibodaux. The indigenous population in the area seems kind of mistreated. It's sad that meth has taken such a foothold there just in the last 15 or so years.

Maybe not the safest place for people like me. But god damn is the food good.

Good folks as far as I've known them. Top tier accents, excellent food.

The most violent, illiterate, overly zealous, marsh in this country. Fuck, Florida produced Florida Man while Lousiana gave us racist hicks on the History Channel.

My friend lives out there, so I don't think it's too terribly bad.
