Why do many hotels and inns have the Holy Bible in each room?

Bibles are considered neutral reading albeit it is christianity that it references but the idea is that if nothing else it cements the person to values based living. Something a hotel or motel hopes will give the customer a more civilized stay rather than tearing up the place in a drunken spree.

It's just not bibles. I stayed in a hotel in Singapore where a lot of the people are Muslim and there was a holy Quran in the room.

Political correctness, I guess? Or maybe it's because in America, Christianity is the religion practiced by the majority.
