What's it like living in Australia with arachnophobia?

I've been to aussie numerous times. common misconception, you see more kangaroos than spiders there. But when you do see a spider it's terrifying. I have only seen a big Huntsman before and that's not even the biggest spider there.

I ask this question as a fellow arachnophobe who has seen one too many pictures of spider season in Australia. Every time I see something of the said nature I always wonder how I would survive... so how do you?

I've lived in Aus twice. You don't see many spiders unless you go looking. You'll see them in the outback, or in rainforests, or in coastal areas, but if you're in the cities where most people are, you'll rarely see a spider.
