"Because women don't want equal rights. Every niche civil rights protection group is only interested in advancement that applies to themselves. They are interested in women's rights because they are women. If they were men, they wpuldn't give a fuck about women's rights. Just looking for "bottom rail on the top row, now massa!" "

I personally believe in equal rights (or at least hate everyone equally) for everyone but I find militant feminists to be incredibly annoying. They border on misandristic, with the opinion that all men are rapists and woman beaters.

"This is why I gave up calling myself a feminist. I now label myself an "equalist", and fight explicitly for women and men to have equal rights under the law. It's true that I mostly end up fighting for women's rights, because women still have farther to go in terms of equality. But I won't shy away from asking for equal rights for men on those rarer occasions when men are being treated unequally. It just seems like the right thing to do, you know? "

It's due to a fundamental misunderstanding by feminists, Men currently face legal, governmental and social discrimination. Women used to face legal and governmental discrimination and still face social discrimination. Despite this feminist ideology is still stuck in the 19th century concept that women are second class citizens when objectively they are in a better position than men. This is why Feminists can't work with or understand the the concept that men face discrimination in some areas. They just cannot grasp that in modern western society men are second class citizens compared to women. The closest they can come is the idea that 'the patriarchy hurts men sometimes even though women are the main victims'.

Feminism is the fight for equal rights with the understanding that women suffer more in disadvantages than men. Like, it's kind of in the name? How is this confusing.

They don't really have a concept of what it was to live before that era, so it's understandable that you don't understand. "Feminism" by its very definition means issues regarding women, similar to the civil rights' movement implied issues regarding blacks. "

"Because male privilege and entitlement are still the reigning norm in (most) societies especially in certain cultures or religions that place women into the role(s) of 2nd class citizens. As a society we still have women's issues taking a huge cut with things like PP cut backs and anti-abortionist agendas that effect the lives of women, especially minority women, way more than men. Due to the fact that there's still an old boy network among many work places. Due to the way sex workers are perceived in greater society by both MEN and WOMEN. Due to the fact that women who freely embrace their sexuality are still labeled "sluts and whores" while men are just studs. Where is the 'equality' when one gender is still seen in the leg down position? I don't believe in man bashing but many men feel it's man bashing when you're simply calling them out on their shit. Why? Because of male privilege and growing up in a culture where inequality between the sexes still exists. "
