Go to your local computer store. Buy a USB hard drive adaptor. They can be had for 30ish bucks. Instructions for removing hard drive different for every vendor. Once your files are safe on a different protected computer (or a mac) virus/spyware scan the shit out of your drive, or perform a repair or full operating system install.

I guess it could be that the Harddisk is full, boot in from a Windows CD or some other bootable CD, then check the free space. Have you read this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330182 Don't worry too much about your files though, I'm sure they're safe.

Yes, you have about a 90% chance of restoring your files. All you need is an OS. Fastest way to ensure your files are safe is to connect the hard drive to another computer and get the files off. Viruses don't touch documents most of the time.

Well ill try to help you with the knowledge i have but do not hesitate to ask anyone else just to be safe, first could you get into safe mode (Press F8 during startup the chose safe mode)?

Use a Linux live disc to boot your computer and move your files to an external drive.
