do you ever get tired of seeing happy endings in books/movies/games/etc?

Honestly, I totally get where you're coming from. It feels like every time I boot up a new game or settle in for a movie, the hero just wins and everything is sunshine and rainbows. Don't get me wrong, I like a good win as much as the next guy, but sometimes it just feels predictable. Like, where's the tension? Where's the grit? It gets a bit boring when you already know exactly how things are gonna wrap up before you're even halfway through.
I think that's why I've been gravitating towards stories that are a bit more messy lately. You know, the ones where the characters actually lose stuff or have to deal with real consequences. It makes the whole experience feel way more grounded. When everything is perfect, it just feels like the writer is playing it safe, and honestly, that kills the excitement for me. I’d take a bittersweet or even a straight-up tragic ending over a fairy tale one any day if it means the story actually feels real.

honestly, i totally get where you're coming from. sometimes it feels like every single story follows the same tired formula where everything just magically works out in the end. after a long day, it gets pretty predictable and frankly a bit boring. when you know exactly how things are gonna wrap up before you're even halfway through, the tension just completely vanishes.
don't get me wrong, i enjoy a feel-good moment as much as the next guy, but i crave something more raw lately. it's like when everything is too perfect, it feels fake and disconnected from real life. i've been gravitating towards stories that leave things a bit messy or ambiguous because that feels way more honest. life rarely hands out a perfect bow on top of every situation, so seeing that reflected in media actually keeps me way more invested.
