"My best childhood friend at one point decided he was too good for me and decided to lie to everyone about how "lame" I was. Ruined my friendships with others, and then I left my friendship with him. (Update) I went to art school, and work at a great business. He lives at home with his parents, and has a great WOW account. "

Of course. Sometimes you and friends grow apart and you stop enjoying their company. If you feel like that or if you feel like they're dragging you down or holding you back, maybe it's time to move on.

Yeah of course, but I'm grateful I was their friend and for the memories. I always say theres a lesson in everything we do and me drifting apart from my old best friend was meaning to me that I've learnt whatever lesson I was suppose to learn by being friends with them and I can move on with life and make new friends.

I'm turning into that guy. I don't 'like' my friends anymore, but will hang out with them (because nobody else will hang out with me :D)
