honestly, the first thing that pops into my head is customer service. back in the day, you'd walk into a shop or call a company, and someone would actually try to help you out. now it's just endless automated loops, chatbots that don't understand a word you're saying, and people who couldn't care less if your problem gets solved or not. it feels like everyone is just trying to pass the buck.

also, the quality of stuff we buy nowadays is just tragic. you pick up a tool or even basic household gear, and it feels like it's gonna break the second you use it. everything is built to be thrown away after a year, instead of being made to last like the things my old man used to have in his workshop. it's all just cheap plastic and planned obsolescence if you ask me, and it really grinds my gears.

Hand tools, man. Honestly, it drives me crazy. I've got wrenches and hammers from my old man's garage that have lasted thirty years, but anything you buy new today feels like it's made of cheap, recycled tin. You pay a premium for "professional" brands, and the finish chips off after a week or the metal just snaps under pressure. It's like nobody cares about quality control anymore, everything is just built to be thrown away after a couple of jobs.

And don't get me started on homes and building materials. Everything is all fancy plastic laminates and paper-thin drywall now. Back in the day, you had solid wood and real masonry that actually lasted, but now it’s all about putting up these cookie-cutter places as fast as possible. If you try to hang a shelf on a wall these days, you're lucky if you don't end up with a hole the size of a dinner plate. It’s a real shame how the craft has gone downhill.
