Grandchildren did your grandparent go to Vietnam and if they did do they have nam flashbacks and if so what were they?

My grandpa was in Nam. Worked as an aviation mechanic, so nothing too bad. However, something happened with the chef over there and him and the people he was with were given chicken for 2 meals a day for 3 years so he never ate chicken after he came home. Ever. I was 16 when he passed and he gave me a vague story that I can't remember now, but my dad said the same was true. In the last 40 some-odd years of his life, the man didn't eat chicken. He would've starved if chicken was the only food left on earth.
