Greek Gods still exist. What are they up to in the modern day?
Honestly, I reckon the old gods just got tired of all the drama on Olympus and decided to blend in with us regular folks. You look around at some of the people making massive waves in tech or finance, and you really have to wonder. Zeus is probably some high-level executive running a massive corporation, probably throwing lightning bolts in the form of hostile takeovers or just acting like he owns the whole city while he drives his fancy car through traffic. It’s not that hard to imagine when you see someone who just has that weird, intimidating aura about them.
Then you’ve got the ones like Hephaestus, who I bet are just running some high-end custom machine shops or architectural firms in the background. I spend my days working with my hands, and sometimes you run into guys who can fix or build things that honestly shouldn't be possible with the tools we have. They just have this knack for metal and craft that makes you stop and stare. Maybe they aren't literal gods, but they sure as hell got some ancient talent that the rest of us are still trying to figure out.
At the end of the day, if they are still walking among us, they’re probably keeping a low profile so nobody drags them into a talk show or makes a meme out of them. It’s probably a lot quieter for them now that they don't have to deal with temples and sacrifices, just boring stuff like taxes and deadlines. Either way, it’s a fun thought to keep in the back of your head whenever you meet someone who just seems a bit too powerful or way too talented for their own good.
Honestly, I love this kind of stuff. It’s fun to imagine them walking around among us, right? I’ve always thought if Zeus was still around, he wouldn't be chilling on a mountain. He’d probably be some high-profile tech mogul or a politician, constantly causing drama on social media and trying to control everything from behind a screen. It fits the whole "god complex" vibe way too perfectly.
Then you’ve got someone like Hermes. I bet he’s working in logistics or maybe running one of those massive global delivery services. It makes sense, given his whole deal with speed and messages. I see him zipping through traffic on a bike, always in a rush to hit those delivery deadlines. It’s kind of funny to think the ancient legends are just working 9-to-5 jobs like the rest of us, struggling with rent and dealing with annoying customers.
Ares is probably just some dude obsessed with extreme sports or maybe working as a security contractor somewhere shady. I feel like they’re all just blending in, trying not to draw too much attention while they live out these mundane human lives. It's a nice thought, though—makes the world feel a little bit more magical when you're stuck in the daily grind.
