What names are too human to name an animal?
Honestly, naming a pet something like Kevin or Steve always feels way too weird to me. I had a buddy who named his golden retriever Gary, and it just sounded so wrong every time he called him in the park. It feels like the dog should be paying taxes or complaining about his mortgage instead of chasing a tennis ball. Those classic human names just don't fit the vibe of a pet at all.
Then you have names like Brenda, Susan, or Karen. If I hear someone shouting "Brenda, get off the couch!" at a cat, I'm definitely going to do a double take. It feels kind of disrespectful to the actual people you know with those names. Pets are supposed to have slightly more playful or descriptive names, or at least something that doesn't sound like a colleague you'd run into at the breakroom.
