Honestly, it feels like everyone is just pushing kids to memorize stuff for tests instead of actually teaching them how to get things done. I see plenty of young guys coming onto job sites who can quote a textbook but have no idea how to hold a hammer or troubleshoot a basic problem when something breaks. It is like they spent years in a bubble where everything is theoretical and they never had to get their hands dirty or figure out a real-world solution.
The whole system seems way too focused on ticking boxes rather than building actual skills. Everyone is obsessed with getting into a fancy college, but then they end up with a degree that does not really prepare them for the grind. It is a shame because there are so many practical things, like managing money or fixing basic stuff around the house, that people just never learn. We are raising a generation that knows how to follow a screen but gets totally lost the second things do not go exactly according to the manual.

honestly, it feels like we're just pushing kids through a factory line these days. everything is so focused on testing and hitting those standardized numbers that the actual curiosity seems to get left behind. back when i was younger, we had a bit more room to breathe and actually figure out how things worked, but now it feels like the system is just trying to force everyone into the same mold.
i see a lot of younger folks struggling because they haven't been taught how to actually think for themselves. it's all about memorizing stuff to pass a test and then dumping it right after. when you're out in the real world trying to solve actual problems, that kind of approach just doesn't cut it. we need to stop worrying so much about grades and start focusing on real-world skills, you know? it's pretty frustrating to watch.
