These dogs are built like tanks, honestly. Based on the ones I've seen around, you're usually looking at about 10 to 13 years. They’re super sturdy animals, but they do have a lot of energy, so they stay pretty active well into their senior years if you keep them moving.
My buddy had one that lived a long time because he was always taking it out to the water and keeping it busy. If you keep them healthy and watch their weight, hitting that 13-year mark is definitely doable. Just keep an eye on their joints since they're such big, powerful dogs, and they should be fine for a good long while.

Those Chessies are tough dogs, no doubt about it. Usually, you're looking at anywhere from 10 to 13 years with them. I've known a few guys who had them out on the water or in the field, and if you keep them active and watch their diet, they can stay pretty spry well into their later years.
It really comes down to genetics and how well you look after their joints, especially since they're such active workers. My buddy had one that lived to be about 14, but that was a pretty lucky case. Just make sure you keep an eye on them as they get older, 'cause they tend to be real stoic about pain and won't always let you know when something's bugging them.
