Whether you need a visa to visit South Korea depends on your nationality and the length of your stay.

Visa-free entry (with K-ETA)

You don't need a visa if you are a citizen of one of the countries included in the visa-free entry program, and you are planning a short-term visit (up to 90 days) for tourism or business purposes. However, you will still need to apply for a Korean Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) before your trip. You can apply for a K-ETA online [Korean Electronic Travel Authorization].

Important note:As of April 1, 2023, the K-ETA requirement has been temporarily waived for US citizens traveling for short-term business or tourism purposes. This waiver is valid until December 31, 2024.
