   Pollen grains are produced in the anthers of a flower.

   The anther is a small sac-like structure located at the tip of each stamen, which is the male reproductive organ of the flower. Inside the anther are four chambers called microsporangia. These chambers contain special cells that undergo meiosis, a cell division process that creates haploid (half the usual number of chromosomes) reproductive cells called microspores.

   The microspores then develop into mature pollen grains within the microsporangia. When the anther matures, it splits open, releasing the pollen grains into the air, where they can be carried by wind or pollinators to the stigma (female reproductive part) of another flower, facilitating fertilization.
