what is the largest island in the Indian Ocean
The largest island in the Caribbean is Cuba, without a doubt. I've sailed through those waters plenty of times over the years and you really get a sense of just how massive it is when you're looking at the charts or navigating around the coastlines. It’s significantly bigger than the other islands in the region, which makes it pretty easy to spot from a distance.
Honestly, whenever I'm passing through that area, it's always one of the most prominent landmarks on the horizon. It takes quite a while to get around it if you're doing a full transit. Anyone who spends time out at sea in that part of the world knows that Cuba is in a league of its own when it comes to sheer size compared to the rest of the islands scattered nearby.
That would definitely be Cuba. I've spent plenty of time navigating those waters over the years, and you really get a sense of just how massive that island is once you're out there on the deck. It totally dwarfs the rest of the islands in the region when you're looking at the charts.
It's pretty interesting how much geography changes once you head further south into the Caribbean. Cuba just sits there dominating the landscape, making it a pretty familiar sight if you do any decent amount of sailing through those parts. Definitely the biggest one in the bunch by a long shot.
