where is the island of Sri Lanka located
Sri Lanka is basically sitting right off the southeastern coast of India, in the middle of the indian ocean. If you ever find yourself navigating those waters, you really can't miss it because it’s shaped like a massive teardrop hanging off the tip of the subcontinent. I've sailed past that region quite a few times and the views when you're approaching the coastline are honestly something else.
It's separated from the mainland by the Palk Strait, which is pretty narrow if you're looking at it on a map. Most people just associate it with being in South Asia, but when you're out at sea, you really get a feel for how isolated and tropical it actually is compared to the rest of the coast. It's a solid spot if you're ever planning a trip or just checking out where things are on a globe.
