where is the island of Sardinia located
Sardinia is a gorgeous spot right in the middle of the Mediterranean. If you're looking at a map, it's just south of the French island of Corsica and sits directly west of the Italian mainland. I've sailed those waters more times than I can count, and honestly, the approach from the sea is unbeatable when you see those rugged cliffs coming into view.
It's actually the second largest island in the Mediterranean, so it's got plenty of space to explore. Depending on where you're starting from, you usually hit the northern ports if you're coming down from the Ligurian Sea or the southern side if you're cruising up from the African coast. The currents around there can be a bit tricky sometimes, but the scenery makes every bit of the trip worth it.
