That would be Lake Superior. Honestly, whenever I’m out on the water, it’s easy to see why it holds the title. Its surface area is massive, covering about 82,100 square kilometers, and it really feels like an endless ocean when you're looking out across the horizon. You definitely don't want to get caught in a storm out there, as the waves can get pretty wild.
I know some people might get it mixed up with Lake Michigan-Huron because they are hydrologically connected, but if you're looking at them as individual lakes, Superior is the clear winner for surface area. It's just one of those spots on the map that makes you realize how huge these bodies of water actually are. Stay safe if you ever plan to head out on those waters.
