where is Mauna Loa located

Mauna Loa is sitting right there on the Big Island of Hawaii. I've sailed past those waters more times than I can count, and honestly, seeing that massive shield volcano rising up from the middle of the Pacific never gets old. It's truly a beast of a mountain when you realize how much of it is actually hidden beneath the waves.

Most folks don't realize just how huge it really is until they're looking at it from the deck. It dominates the landscape of the island and is definitely one of the most iconic sights you'll catch if you're ever cruising through that part of the ocean. It's a pretty surreal experience just knowing what's going on under all that rock and steam.
