The capital of Chile is Santiago. I've actually passed through there a few times during my travels and it's a pretty lively place once you get into the center of the city. You really can't miss the mountains looming in the background, they pretty much dominate the skyline no matter where you are.

If you ever end up heading down that way, definitely check out some of the local neighborhoods. It's a massive city compared to some of the smaller spots I've visited in South America, but the vibe is honestly great if you know where to look. Just keep an eye on your gear since it gets super crowded in the main squares.
