The capital of Costa Rica is San José. I remember landing there a few times during my travels, it’s a pretty busy city right in the middle of the country. It’s definitely not the coastal vibe you might expect when you think of that part of the world, but it has its own charm if you know where to look.
Honestly, most people just pass through it to get to the beaches or the rainforests, which is a bit of a shame. The coffee culture there is legit, and it's a good spot to grab a bite before heading out to the more rugged parts of the country. If you ever find yourself there, just watch out for the traffic, it can get a bit chaotic at times.
