what is the capital of malaysia
Jakarta has been the capital for the longest time, but things are shifting now. Most people still associate it with the capital because it's been the center of everything for decades, but the government has been pushing hard to move the administrative functions to the new city, Nusantara.
I've sailed past the region plenty of times and the talk about the new capital is huge over there. Jakarta is honestly super crowded and dealing with sinking issues, so the move to Kalimantan makes a lot of sense if you look at the big picture. It’s definitely a massive project that's changing the whole vibe of the country.
Jakarta is still the capital of Indonesia for now, though there's been a lot of talk about moving the administrative center to Nusantara. Having sailed through those waters a few times, I can tell you that Jakarta is absolutely massive and definitely has a unique, chaotic energy to it that you won't find anywhere else. It’s always buzzing with activity, even if the traffic can be a total nightmare to deal with when you're trying to get around the city.
I’ve stopped by the port there on several occasions and the place just never seems to sleep. Honestly, it’s one of those spots where you either love the hustle or you're ready to head back out to sea the next day. If you ever find yourself planning a trip there, just make sure to pack plenty of patience because the city is a wild ride.
