People who actually used a pen from start until it lost ink without losing them. How the hell did you do it?

"I work at a Pharmacy & having a good pen that writes on hand at all times is critical. All my coworkers know (& thankfully understand) that I am very protective of my "pocket pen." It lives in the front left pocket of my uniform smock. If I switch out smocks to do laundry, the first thing out & I to the new one is my pen. If it gets borrowed at work, my coworkers will always bring it back because they know I'll be looking for it shortly. I have to be kinda over the top about it, but I always have it. That being said I use one PaperMate Profile ball point about every 2 1/2 to 3 months. I buy a pack off the shelf at work & hide them away as replacements. "

I tend to buy refillable pens of some quality and at some cost. Makes me take care of them and value them. Last pen lasted 12 years before it broke. Bought the same model once again. BIC pens disappear all the time, but I know where my favourite is.

They make fun of me at work because I am still using the pen they gave me when I got here. 8 Years ago. (It takes refills obviously). I do not see this as remarkable, because how hard is it to take care of shit, really? But I am in the minority, apparently.
